Activities at Center for Unani Ilaj Bit Tadbeer - Regimental Therapy

31st October 2011
The Center for Unani Ilaj Bit Tadbeer - Regimental Therapy,  A Project funded by Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi started the Outpatient Department.

14th November 2011
Children's day was celebrated and 180 students of Government Middle School, Puduvoyal along with 10 Teachers were invited to the Center for Unani Ilaj Bit Tadbeer - Regimental Therapy and a Health Talk was delivered by Research staffs of the center. Herbal Garden visit was conducted to the students and staffs along with the Health Quiz. Prizes were distributed and notebooks, pen, pencils and rubber were given to all the students.

Dr. Hakim Syed M M Ameen, Project Director of the Center for Unani Ilaj Bit Tadbeer - Regimental Therapy, Puduvoyal presented a scientific paper entitled Center for Unani Ilaj Bit Tadbeer - "Regimental Therapy" in the National Seminar on Primary Health Care and Unani System of Medicine at the Auditorium , JBAS Women College, Chennai 600 018, on the occasion of the Centenary Celebrations of Eastern Medical Association of Southern India, Chennai.

The Seminar and Exhibition were inaugurated by His Excellency the Lt. Governor of Puducherry.

5th - 6th January 2012
The Monitoring Committee from Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India visited the Center for Unani Ilaj Bit Tadbeer - Regimental Therapy. The committee comprising of the following members:-

Dr. S.A. Pasha, Deputy Advisor (Unani), Representative from the Department of AYUSH and Dr. Jamil Ahmed, Assistant Director (Unani), Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine, Chennai, Representative from the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM)

The Committee visited the Center for Unani Ilaj Bit Tadbeer, different Regimental Therapy sections, Administrative Block, Pharmacy, In-patient & Out-patient sections and Herbal Garden, and also verified the records maintained.

The Farmer's meet was organised by the Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine, Chennai (CCRUM, New Delhi) with the collaboration of Center for Unani Ilaj Bit Tadbeer - Regimental Therapy with an aim to enlighten and educate the cultivation of Herbal plants and their economical, importance and medicinal values.

Prof. Hakim Syed  Khaleefathullah, Vice President, Central Council of Indian Medicine, Govt. of India, New Delhi and the President, Niamath Science Academy, presided the farmer's meet. Thiru A. Prabakaran, Village President, Puduvoyal village, inaugurated and Dr. Ameer Jahan, Chairman, The All India Medicinal Herbs Cultivators, Processors, Manufacturers & Research Industrial Co-operative Society Ltd., was the Chief Guest.

Mr. R. Murugeswaran, Assistant Director (Botany) Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine, Chennai, Mr. A. Ganapathysamy, Agronomist, NRPL, Bangalore, Mr. M. Ashokan, A.D (Agri) Gumnmidipoondi, Dr. Syed M.A. Iqbal, Director, Center for Unani Ilaj Bit Tadbeer, Puduvoyal, Dr.A. Anvardeen, Center for Unani Ilaj Bit Tadbeer, Puduvoyal and Mr. P.M. Pagalavan, Councillor, Sholavaram village spoke during this occasion on the uses, Marketing, Schemes on Cultivation of Medicinal Plants. Dr. K. Venkatesan, Research Assistant, Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine, Chennai, proposed Vote of Thanks on this occasion.
